Maryland's Premier Caterer

Chef’s Expressions brings creativity, passion and excellence to each of our catering events. Our attention to detail and dedication to each event’s success made us the "National Catering Company of the Year" and "Maryland’s Caterer of the Year."
In addition to the experiences we create for our clients, we donate our time, food and services to support our community. In 2011, we were honored as the Business Philanthropy Award Winner from the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.

Our Team

Meet the Chef’s Expressions team of visionaries:

Jerry Edwards, CPCE President and Corporate Chef
In addition to building one of the most successful catering companies in his region, Jerry has traveled the world, training and assisting caterers, chefs and event planners to animate their guest’s culinary experience.

Since inception, Jerry’s leadership led to two separate National Catering Company of the Year Awards. He personally won over 50 industry awards and holds an honorary doctorate in hospitality, but is most proud of his NACE Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jerry has been a contributing writer for several national magazines including Catersource, Special Events and Catering. He is currently working on two books, one for the industry titled “A Chef’s Perspective” and one for the culinary public titled “Seasons of the Grape,” a book on seasonal cooking and wine pairing in wine growing regions around the globe.

Jerry also champions many charities for children’s issues, social causes and adult diseases. Jerry is the current spokesperson for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. Each year he also spearheads a Chef’s Dinner, raising over $100,000 for the charity. In 2011, Chef’s Expressions was honored with the Business Philanthropy Award from the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of catering, consulting and administration, Jerry finds peace and solitude in his farm-style kitchen where he creates wine dinners for both family and friends.

Bonny Opper
Bonny Opper’s devotion to the event planning industry has led her to become one of the premier catering consultants in Baltimore and all over Maryland. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, her list of clients and admirers grows on a daily basis. She enjoys working with wedding and corporate clients and has a special quality that makes them all feel welcome and a part of the family.

Bonny’s passion is to make each event flawless, appear effortless and as she tells her clients “I want you to be a guest at your own event”. Bonny is the expert at working with new clients and providing insight on a multitude of options whether it is venues, music, décor, or activities to enhance the occasion of their dreams. When a client meets Bonny, they know that every detail will be flawlessly handled.

In 2010, Bonny received the 2010 Best Catered Event Award from the National Association of Catering Executives.

Katie Bittinger

Katie is the catch all for our office and keeps the business running smoothly. Her attention to detail is astonishing and her desire to make clients feel completely cared for is paramount.

Will Jones
Will Jones, Executive Party Chef, joined Chef’s Expressions in 1997 as an intern, working only one day a week. In the fall of 1997, Will attended the Baltimore International Culinary College and graduated in the Spring of 1999. While in attendance at BIC, Will traveled to Ireland for an International Culinary Course and Experience. In 1999, Will began a full-time career with Chef’s Expressions as prep cook. Will’s fine palate, calm demeanor and organizational skills make him a natural leader in the kitchen.

In the past 10 years, he has honed his culinary skills at the side of two great catering chefs, Vito Piazza, Culinary Olympian, and Chef John Walsh, Baltimore’s Premier Catering Chef. Will has become an excellent Chef in his own right and supervises the culinary team at Chef’s Expressions, executing the finest catering cuisine in the region.

David Brooks
David Brooks is a favorite among the Chef’s Expressions team – mostly because he always has sweets around him! David is native to Essex, England but while at a four-star boutique hotel in the Isle of Jersey, an American entrepreneur lured him to Baltimore to consult for several bakeries. As Chef’s Expressions’ Pastry Chef, he delights our clients with his dessert sensations such as Cheesecake Lollipops, Peanut Butter Sins, and Apple Pie Pops. His wedding cakes are not only beautiful, but taste delicious – with flavors such as Carrot Cake, Red Velvet, Blueberry Lemon, and Chocolate Mousse.

Alicia Evans
Alicia got her start in hospitality world working at a restaurant on the coast of New Jersey. At 14 years old, she remembers how drawn she was to the fun and excitement of the environment. Alicia enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people every day. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications from the University of Baltimore. Joining our team as a server in 2012, it quickly became apparent that Alicia’s tenacious drive and dedication would lead her to further opportunities in the company. She made the transition into her current position as Event Design Specialist in early 2014. Excited to excel her career, Alicia is looking forward to developing new opportunities and relationships within the hospitality industry.
