HOLIDAY DECOR: CHRISTMAS WITH CHILDREN

Posted on: Wednesday, December 12th, 2013

As a family, we have developed many traditions and couldn’t image the holiday without them. My three daughters, ages 4, 6, and 8, absolutely love helping decorate the house during the holidays. In the first week of December, we visit the same farm each year to cut down a Christmas tree (usually the tallest one on the lot!). Each girl has her own American Girl doll, so we make stockings for them and hang them at the foot of their beds. We also have a miniature tree adorned with twinkling lights that has become the dolls’ very own tree. On Christmas Eve, we turn off all of the house lights and my husband reads The Night Before Christmas to our girls. Before bed, they sprinkle “reindeer food” and write their holiday wish list on a dry-erase plate. The holidays are our favorite time of year!

Happy Holidays!
