A congratulations is in order for our very own Jerry Edwards CPCE!

At the National Association for Catering and Events’ Experience 2015 conference in Scottsdale, Arizona that took place July 12th-15th, Jerry was beyond honored to receive the Industry Icon Award for catering and event planning. This award is presented to an individual to honor the impact they have made on the catering and events industry through their own personal efforts and contribution. Jerry is the first NACE recipient of this award.

In his 27 years as a member of NACE, Jerry has served many positions including National President from 1998 to 2004. In 1992, he earned the first ever distinguished Catering Member of the Year Award. He has also been awarded many other awards from many other organizations such as Catersource, The Special Event and The American Culinary Federation, but he says his finest moment before the ICON Award, was his induction into the NACE Hall of Fame in 2007.

The Experience conference itself is one of the oldest and largest conferences for the catering and events industry. The emphasis is on serving those in the industry through education by breakout sessions, keynote speakers, and even the food being served. You can find industry celebs speaking during the conference including well-known people from the Food Network, Hard Rock International, and the White House. This year, Oprah’s own event planner Colin Cowie was up on stage sharing his secrets!

The conference was very upbeat and fun to say the least. Imagine attendees from one of the most friendly, creative industries coming together and networking with theme parties! It goes without saying that they outdid themselves each time with spectacular food and decor.

NACE’s Experience event is something that we look forward to being a part of each year. This year we couldn’t have been more excited for Jerry on his outstanding award. We are very proud to call him our President and Corporate Chef here at Chef’s Expressions!
