Holiday Entertaining Tip

When I was a little kid my grandmother always had a small pot of apple cider simmering on the stove. She would have a large spice pack soaking in the cider.  The cider was made not for consumption but for the holiday fragrance that filled her house.  It was the first thing we smelled when we came to visit.

I have continued the tradition every Christmas Eve.

Holiday Spice Pack

1 gallon of Cider
6-8 Cinnamon Sticks   
1 Clove Studded Orange    
2 sprigs of Rosemary    
3 tablespoons of Allspice 
3 tablespoons of Nutmeg 
3 tablespoons of Cardamom
